What we collect

If you answer the merch survey, we store what you picked, your note if you wrote one, your email address if you gave one, and the time you sent it. Nothing else.

The site counts visits with Cloudflare Web Analytics, which sets no cookies and keeps no personal profile. It counts which page was opened, the country it was opened from, the site that linked to it, and the kind of browser and device, and Matt sees those counts only as totals. Like any website, Cloudflare sees your IP address when your browser sends the count.

Before the survey, the site had an earlier email list for one item. Emails left on that list are kept in the same way, and the site no longer adds to it.

What we never collect

The site has no accounts, takes no payments and sets no cookies of its own. We do not sell, rent or share your information. Only Matt Emery, who runs the show, and Dylan, who helps run this site, can read the survey answers.

Where it is stored

Survey answers are stored with Firebase, a Google service, which also hosts the site. The episode list and cover art load from Captivate, the show's podcast host. Like any website, these services see your IP address when your browser asks them for something. The Latest row under the YouTube videos lists newer videos from this site's own database, so the page contacts Google Firebase on load.

If you press play on a YouTube video, the player loads from YouTube (youtube-nocookie.com), which sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy. The Instagram, TikTok and Facebook videos are plain links that open on those apps, which set their own cookies there. The pictures in the Videos section are stored on this site.

How long we keep it

Survey answers, and the emails on the earlier email list, are kept until the merch note is sent and for up to 12 months after, unless you ask to be removed sooner. If no merch is made, they are deleted within 12 months of the survey closing.

Your copy and your deletion

Message us and ask for a copy of what we hold about you, or ask for it to be deleted. It is done by hand, usually within a few days.

Children

This site is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information. If a child has sent something, tell us and we will remove it.
